Are professional hair dryers worth buying? (please, only hair experts answer)?

What are the main differences between regular hair dryers and professional. I believe that professional dryers generally take longer to dry your hair because they are not as strong as regular hair dryers.

Please suggest some hair dryers you feel are appropriate. My hair is fine, thin, medium length, curly (but i straighten it), chemically treated. Are professional hair dryers worth buying? (please, only hair experts answer)?
im not a professional but it is easier to dry and straighten your hair using professional air dryers. Its like comparing a new car to a 20 year old car. The difference besides the year difference is that one new will work a lot better. This is not the best comparison but I think I made my point.
